Higley and Brophy delivered on the hype. Billed as the AIA Game of the Week, the October 17, 2025 matchup between the two programs went to overtime before Higley came away with a 41-38 win in what stood as the Knights' closest game since November 2024.

Quarterback Gunner Fagrell was at the center of it, throwing for 347 yards and three touchdowns to keep Higley's offense in step with a Brophy team that pushed the Knights all night. Receiver Anthony Palka was right there with him, hauling in 123 receiving yards and three touchdowns of his own — a connection that proved to be the difference when the game spilled into the extra period.

Brophy, no stranger to high-profile matchups against the state's top programs, had chances throughout to pull away but couldn't quite finish the job, falling in a game that could have gone either way in the final possessions.

For Higley, the win was exactly the kind of statement victory a program wants heading into the stretch run — proof the Knights could match a proven program like Brophy possession for possession and come out on top when it mattered most.
