Roye Oliver III Set an Arizona Record and Became the State's Most Talked-About Sophomore

No player in Arizona high school football generated more buzz in 2025 than Hamilton receiver Roye Oliver III. As a sophomore, Oliver set the Arizona state record with 29 receiving touchdowns, a number that would stand out at any level and helped carry Hamilton to a perfect 10-0 regular season.
The production matched the hype. Oliver was named MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year for his 2025 season and capped it off by being named the 2025 Arizona high school football Gatorade Player of the Year — one of the sport's most prestigious individual honors, awarded to a player who stood out among the entire state regardless of grade level.
The recruiting world took notice just as quickly as the box scores did. Oliver holds a four-star rating and is ranked the No. 13 wide receiver nationally, strong enough that he officially reclassified from the 2028 class to 2027, positioning himself to enroll in college a year earlier than his original graduating class.
At 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, Oliver isn't the biggest receiver on the field, but his production says he doesn't need to be. With two more high school seasons remaining, Oliver is already one of the most closely tracked recruits to come out of Arizona in recent memory — a name Hamilton fans, and college recruiters, will be watching closely.
