Troy Jauregui saved his best performance for the biggest stage. In Casteel's 42-27 win over Centennial in the 2025 6A state championship, Jauregui scored three touchdowns three different ways — two through the air and one on an 86-yard punt return — finishing the night with five catches for 129 receiving yards and earning Fiesta Bowl MVP honors.
The championship performance was the signature moment of a breakout season for the 5-foot-9, 162-pound athlete, who plays all over the field for Casteel as a receiver, returner, and defensive back. Jauregui's game-changing versatility earned him 6A State Championship Game MVP and Offensive Player of the Game recognition, along with First Team All-Region and Second Team All-Conference honors.
A member of the 2027 class, Jauregui has already established himself as one of the more electric all-around athletes in the state, the kind of player capable of flipping a championship game with a single special-teams return as easily as a contested catch. With two seasons of high school football still ahead of him, his performance in Casteel's title run figures to only raise his recruiting profile heading into the next stage of his career.
For a Casteel program celebrating its first state championship, Jauregui's three-touchdown night will be remembered as the signature individual performance of the run.
